Over 90 percent of eligible clinicians participated in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) during the first year of the Quality Payment Program (QPP). In order to succeed in future years, providers must optimize their practices workflows in order to report data appropriately and efficiently.
Some areas of focus to consider are:
• Templates for proper documentation of quality measures.
• Reengineering of front desk workflows to allow time for accurate measure reporting.
• Staffing analysis.
• Evaluation of current data analytics for performance tracking.
• Optimization of EHR use.
Despite of CMS efforts to offer flexibility to clinicians for participation in the QPP, these proposed changes are extensive and can be overwhelming. If you would like our assistance to set you up for success in MIPS, please contact us.
